Designing a Life in Science: How Purpose Shapes a Career

• Cristina Padilla, International Atomic Energy Agency and 2026 Jean Dreyfus Lecturer for San Jose State University
• 6:30 pm–7:30 pm, In-person, SJSU Student Union Theater, One Washington Square, San José, CA 95192 (see map), Learn more

Ms. Padilla will share how she learned to build a life that reflects her values, not all at once, but through steady, intentional choices. She’ll talk about the moments that required courage, the times she had to trust her instincts, and the clarity that comes from aligning her work with who she is. It’s a reflection on designing a meaningful career, one that honors both the scientist she became and the person she always was.
